10/31: Griggs fall Festival
Important Information:
Parents are welcome to attend.
No other MCPSS students are allowed to attend.
No money will be accepted after October 27th.
After October 27th, wristbands and tickets will need to be purchased at the festival.
Only students that are school aged need to purchase a wristband. Parents and siblings younger than 4 years old do not need to purchase a wristband.
We are planning to host a wonderful Halloween/Fall Festival this year. If you can support our efforts, we are asking the following items for donations by grade level.
Students that donate will receive an out-of-uniform pass to use on November 4th.
All donations need to be turned in by October 27th to receive an out-of-out uniform pass.

Monday, Oct. 27: “Peace Out” to Drugs! Wear neon or tie-dye.
Tuesday, Oct. 28: Team Up Against Drugs! Wear your favorite sports jersey.
Wednesday, Oct. 29: Wake Up Drug Free! Wear your favorite pajamas.
Thursday, Oct. 30: “Red"-y to be Drug Free! Wear red.
Friday, Oct. 31: Boo to Drugs! Wear a Halloween shirt with leggings/ jeans.

Griggs Skate Night @ Dreamland Skate Center 5-7pm $5 per skater.

Griggs Spirit Night @ Chuck E. Cheese from 3-9 pm.

50th day of School
Students may dress like they are from the 50's.

Parents & Guardians are invited to join us for a picnic.
You are welcome to bring a picnic/outside food.
Don‘t forget to bring a blanket and/or chairs.
Parents & Guardians will park in the back of the school in the designated area.
All visitors will sign in near the back of the gym. Then, proceed to the grade level meeting area. Please use the attached map to find the meeting location.
You will sign your child out with their teacher for the picnic. At the end of the picnic, you will sign your child back in with their teacher. Early dismissals will be handled by your child‘s teacher.
Report cards will be handed out by your child’s teacher during the signing out process.
Kona Ice will be set up.
$4 for regular size or
$4 for changing color cup refills.
This will also be the 50th Day of School. Students may dress in 5o’s style attire.

The Griggs Elementary Book Fair will run Tuesday, September 23 – Friday, September 26. Students will shop during their PE time Tuesday–Thursday, and the fair will close at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, September 26.
Parents and guardians are invited to shop during Open House on Thursday, September 25 after visiting classrooms.

Griggs is hosting Grandparent's lunch for all grades.
9/5: Pre-K, K-2nd, Javillonar's & Perryman's classes
9/10: 3rd-5th grade classes
Grandparents MUST pre-register and pre-pay to reserve their spot.
Reservation forms and payment are due no later than Wednesday, September 3rd. Forms were sent home on Tuesday, August 19th.
Please send money/form with your child. We can not accept money in the office.
Adult visitor price is $6.00 cash (correct change) or checks made payable to Griggs Elementary School.
Students do not need to pay. Sorry, we can not pull siblings.
Grandparents will park on the asphalt by the gym. Then, proceed to the gym to sign in and meet their student.
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to lunch time for check in.

If your child was a car rider last year, we will continue using that same car tag number. If you lost/misplaced your car tag or need extra tags, cost is $3 each. Available for purchase at Meet the Teacher August 7th.
New car riders will receive 2 car tags. If you need extra tags cost is $3.
