We are so proud to recognize Aaron Pineda Carranza, as our Griggs Red Ribbon Leader!
Aaron is a wonderful example of leadership, kindness, and school spirit. He is an active member of our Robotics Team, PACE, and Project Outreach, where he works hard, helps others, and gives his best each day.
He is known for being friendly, respectful, helpful, and a great friend to his classmates. His positive attitude and willingness to be involved make him a shining example of what it means to be a Griggs Shining Star!

Dino-Mito Book Fair

SEPTEMBER 29-OCTOBER 2
Students will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair during P. E. times.
Dress Up Days:
Tuesday 9/29: Jurassic Explorer Day- Khaki, hiking clothes, safari hats,
binoculars, explorer outfits.
Wednesday 9/30: Paleontologist Day- Dress like a genetics scientist from
Jurassic Park with lab coats, safety goggles, and ID badges.
Thursday 10/1: T-Rex Thursday- Dinosaur shirts, onesies, or clothes with
dinosaur prints.
Friday 10/2: Prehistoric Pajama Day: Dinosaur pajamas or pajamas/comfy
loungewear for a "nest" day.

Tennis shoes must be worn each day.

ATTENDANCE KICK-OFF STARTS SEPTEMBER 1ST!

We’re kicking off a our attendance challenge at Griggs Elementary, and we are SO excited!

Starting September 1st, students who have perfect attendance for the entire month—with NO absences, NO tardies, and NO early dismissals—will be invited to an Attendance Pep Rally!

Meet the Teacher
Thursday, August 6th from 4-6pm
Students must be completely registered to attend. This includes all documentation uploaded or emailed to sdock@mcpss.com
We will not handle any registration during this time.
Everyone will start in the gym.
Things to do at Meet the Teacher:
*Complete transportation forms. All students must have a transportation form completed before the first day of school.
*Sign parent compacts.
*Purchase Griggs spirit shirts $10 Griggs sweatshirts $20.
*Pre-purchase yearbooks $45.
*Bring teacher wish lists items. Not required, but greatly appreciated.
*Nurse Sara will be available if needed.
*Sign up for Before/After school care if needed. Space are limited.
*Visit your child's classroom and meet the teacher. Teacher will also have individual information to hand out.

Car Rider Information for the 2026-2027 school year.
If your child was a car rider last year, we will continue using that same car tag number. If you lost/misplaced your car tag or need extra tags, cost is $3 each. Available for purchase at Meet the Teacher August 6th.
New car riders will receive 2 car tags. If you need extra tags cost is $3.
Cash or checks made payable to Griggs Elementary School.

If your child will be a bus rider for the 2026-2027 school year, please search for your bus information before coming to Meet the Teacher on Thursday, August 6th.
